Rashtriya Ekta Diwas 2026 at Ekta Nagar: Where to Stay & How to Reach

Celebration
09-10-2026

Ekta Nagar is a small place that suddenly has to hold a very big crowd. That's the real problem for anyone heading there on 30th and 31st October. The event is free, but rooms are limited and the roads fill up. So before you think about the parade, sort out two boring things: where you'll sleep and how you'll get there. Everything below is based on what the official event website currently says.

🇮🇳 Rashtriya Ekta Diwas 2026 at Ekta Nagar

Two days, two programmes. On the evening of 30th October there's a cultural show at Dam View Point 1, pencilled in for around 7 PM. The next day, 31st October, is the parade, tentatively at 4 PM. Expect police and paramilitary contingents, cultural troupes, an Air Force flypast and a speech by the Prime Minister.

Entry costs nothing. You do have to register first, and the confirmation pass arrives by email. If you haven't done that yet, our registration guide for Rashtriya Ekta Diwas 2026 explains the steps. For the schedule and what to expect on the day, there's the parade and visitor guide.

The organisers say the timings are tentative. Check the official page again before you leave home.

🏨 Where to Stay in Ekta Nagar for Rashtriya Ekta Diwas

You've got two kinds of choices. One is the official accommodation the state tourism body is putting up for the event. The other is a regular hotel, resort, tent camp or guest house in or around Ekta Nagar.

The official option is simpler to understand and usually cheaper. A private hotel gives you more comfort and more variety, but you're competing with everyone else who had the same idea.

When you compare hotels, ask yourself a few plain questions. How far is it from Dam View Point 1 and the parade area? Can your whole family fit in one room? Will you have to arrange a taxi every time you step out? And is it actually free on your dates? Prices and availability change fast near big events, so look at live listings instead of trusting an old number. You can start with our page for hotels near Statue of Unity.

🏕️ Official Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Accommodation

The Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Limited is building a Dome City at Ekta Nagar for visitors to the parade and Bharat Parv 2026. It runs until 15th November. Units include AC and non-AC tents with attached washrooms, plus cheaper dormitory-style cubicles with shared washrooms, sized for two to four people.

The rates on the official page are marked indicative. That means TCGL can change them, and GST is charged on top where it applies. Rooms go by availability, and bookings are only taken through the official portal, so don't pay anyone who claims to sell these units off the record. This is separate from the private hotels around the town, which set their own rates.

🚗 How to Reach Ekta Nagar for Rashtriya Ekta Diwas

By Car

Three cities feed most road traffic. From Vadodara it's about 90 km, around two hours, going through Dabhoi and Tilakwada. From Ahmedabad it's roughly 210 km, a little over four hours, via the Vadodara expressway and then Dabhoi. From Surat it's about 175 km, a bit over three hours, through Bharuch and Rajpipla.

Those times are the official ones for a normal day. On an event weekend, add padding.

By Bus

Buses run from nearby towns and cities, and state transport is one of the ways in. I'm not going to guess at bus numbers or timetables. Ask GSRTC or your operator for the current schedule for your dates.

By Train

Ekta Nagar railway station is the nearest, about 7 km from the Statue of Unity. Direct trains are listed from Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Chennai, Varanasi and Rewa. Vadodara Junction, about 90 km away, is the fallback if your train doesn't go all the way. Outside Ekta Nagar station you'll find local transport and taxis.

By Air

Vadodara is the closest airport at about 90 km, and takes roughly an hour and a half to two hours by road. Ahmedabad is about 210 km away, four hours or so, and has the most routes. Surat sits in between, around 175 km and a little over three hours. From any of them you can take a state bus, a taxi or a private car.

🚆 How to Reach Statue of Unity from Ekta Nagar Railway Station

Getting off the train doesn't mean you've arrived. The statue complex is still about 7 km away. Free e-buses supported by the authority run from the station, and there are also Pink EV autos, ordinary autos and cabs you can book on demand. On event days, leave extra time. Crowds change how fast anything moves.

🚌 Local Transport During Rashtriya Ekta Diwas

Inside the tourism zone, the main way around is a free AC electric bus connecting the major attractions. Local taxis and autos wait at set pickup points and charge regulated fares. Older visitors and anyone with trouble walking can ask for a golf cart at the authorised service points.

One rule catches people out. Private vehicles aren't allowed into the core attraction zone, so you'll switch to the electric bus or other approved transport. Roads can also be restricted during official events, so follow whatever the staff on the ground tell you, even if it's different from what you planned.

📅 When Should You Book Your Stay?

Now, if you can. Waiting until the final week is how people end up in a hotel an hour away or paying far more than they wanted.

Book your travel and your bed around the same time. Read the cancellation terms before you pay, because plans around a big public event do shift. Save every confirmation, including your parade pass, in one place on your phone. And look at the official event page once more just before you go.

🗺️ Simple Travel Plan for Rashtriya Ekta Diwas 2026

Day 1: Arrive, check in and rest. If you've got energy left, see something small nearby, like a garden, and go to bed early.

Day 2: Aim to be at the parade venue at least three hours before the start. That's the official advice, and it's there because entry checks take time. After the parade, use what's left of the day for anything you missed.

If you can spare an extra day, the cultural evening on the 30th is a good reason to arrive early.

🌿 What Else Can You Visit in Ekta Nagar?

You're already there, so use it. The Statue of Unity and Statue of Unity Viewing Gallery come first. After that, there's the Valley of Flowers, the Jungle Safari, the Cactus Garden and the Unity Glow Garden. The Sardar Sarovar Dam is close too. Timings and ticket details change, so confirm them nearer the date.
