Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations

On the morning of 30 October, the Prime Minister was in Banaskantha for separate projects worth over ₹14,000 crore. Those are not Ekta Nagar projects, so please don't mix the two amounts.

🇮🇳 Why Is the PM Visiting Ekta Nagar?

31 October is the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. In 2026 it is his 151st. The Prime Minister joins the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations here every year, beside the Statue of Unity.

This year's theme is Vande Mataram. The parade will highlight the work of the security forces against Left-Wing Extremism. About 5,000 artists from across India will present classical and folk traditions. For registration and entry details, see our existing Ekta Diwas guides.

🎪 Bharat Parv 2026

Bharat Parv 2026 is a festival of India's culture and unity, in the spirit of "Ek Bharat Shreshth Bharat". States and Union Territories will show their traditions, folk performances, regional food, handicrafts and tourist attractions.

The festival is expected to boost tourism in Ekta Nagar and nearby places. It continues until 15 November 2026.

💡 Ekta Prakash Parv: Night Tourism at Ekta Nagar

Ekta Prakash Parv is a festival of lights about India's unity, diversity and progress. The official release says it promotes night tourism through themed lighting. It has two main attractions:

  • Valley of Flowers Road illumination: 530 metres long, themed "From Ancient India to Modern India". It covers national identity, civilisation, women's empowerment, security forces, technology, yoga and a children's fantasy world.

  • Glow Tunnel: 180 metres long, themed "Unity in India's Diversity". It is a walk-through of the culture, architecture, folk dances and lifestyles of India's four regions.

More than 1.5 crore LED lights are used. The release does not say how the public can visit or at what time. Please check before you plan an evening around it. Our Glow Garden page shows the evening attraction already listed on our site.

🏗️ New Tourism Projects at Ekta Nagar

The release lists the projects below. It also says "among others", so the list is not complete.

To be inaugurated

  • Rain Forest: a new nature attraction (details in the next section).

  • Unity and Eco Trail: a trail project. The release gives very few details.

  • Narmada Ghat upgrade: improvements to the riverfront where the Narmada Aarti is held.

  • IRCTC hotel: a new hotel in Ekta Nagar. No opening date for guests is given.

  • Facade lighting, and a sewage and water treatment plant: supporting works that keep the area clean and lit.

Vaman Vriksha Vatika

The release says the Prime Minister will visit it. It does not call it a new opening. It is already listed on our site as the bonsai garden, with miniature trees and landscapes.

🌳 Rain Forest at Ekta Nagar: Confirmed vs Reported

Officially confirmed: the Rain Forest is among the projects to be inaugurated, and the Prime Minister will visit it on 31 October.

Reported by news agencies (IANS and ANI):

  • It covers about 47,000 square metres, roughly 12 acres, near the new Gora Bridge.

  • It has a glass-deck skywalk, a waterfall, a circular pond and an information centre.

  • Plants come from the Western Ghats, the Himalayas and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

  • There is a children's play area. One report also mentions artificial rain.

Reports disagree on the skywalk's length and shape, and on the cost. Figures range from about ₹9.49 crore to ₹14.30 crore. The official release gives no cost for individual projects, so we haven't quoted one. Ticket details and timings have not been announced.

💰 The Over ₹400 Crore Investment

The official release says the Prime Minister will lay foundation stones, inaugurate and dedicate projects worth over ₹400 crore in Ekta Nagar. This covers tourism, roads, water, sewage and waste management. One report counts 31 projects worth about ₹426.71 crore, with 23 to be inaugurated. Treat that as a report, not an official figure.

🧭 What This Means for Visitors

Ekta Nagar is adding more things to do after dark and more nature attractions. That makes a one-day trip tighter. Our Statue of Unity 1-day itinerary shows what fits in a day. If you want tickets and a stay arranged together, see our Statue of Unity tour packages.

New attractions may not open to the public right away, so check each one before you travel.
